A former Tsinghua University lecturer of politics has mounted a legal challenge against his past employer, over a dismissal that he claims as political persecution. He is known for trying to travel to Hong Kong to study the Umbrella Movement protests in 2014.

以敢言見稱的北京清華大學政治系前講師吳強，2014年因試圖往香港做有關佔中運動的「田野調查」（Field Study），隨後遭校方單方面解聘。直至今年初，清華校方才給他正式的解聘通知。吳強入稟北京海淀區法院，控告清華大學未有遵守有關人事合約。
